How It Works
Ride days are run in sessions, groups are determined by experience and machinery. Generally groups are:

  1. Novice - for those new track, or if you prefer a slower pace
  2. Intermediate - faster riders who are past the novice stage
  3. Fast Road Rider - Sports bikes and experienced riders
  4. Racers - riders on race bikes.

Generally session are 15 to 20 minutes, usually getting 5-6 session in a day. All new riders to the track start in the Novice group, as you gain track experience you may want to move up to the intermediate group, just ask one one the marshals if want to change groups.

Some Simple Rules

  1. Always wear your helmet, even in the pit lane
  2. No overtaking on the inside once in the braking area
  3. If you're slowing to enter the pits, or for any other reason, raise your hand or stick your leg out to warn other riders
  4. Pit Exit - when you exit the pits look for traffic before you go onto the track.

Flags

  • Red - Track closed: don't go onto the track or slow down finish the lap your are on and return to the pits
  • White with red cross - course car or ambulance on the track
  • Green - track open: the track is clear to use
  • Yellow - caution: slow down, there is a crash or a problem on the track, LOOK for liquid or debris on the track
  • Black - Slow down, finish the lap you are on and return to the pits and see the marshal.
  • Chequered - Session is finished: finish your lap and return to the pits.

Not all the flags listed above are used, the organisers will explain the flags in use on the day.

Before you ride

  1. ALL bikes are scrutinised - checked over for basic control operations; brakes, clutch and throttle, any fluid leaks or loose bits. (Note: if you have a rack with a high back (i.e. Ventura), you will need to remove the upper section.
  2. Remove the tool kit from under the seat
  3. Rider are briefed on the rules, flags and running of the day.
